Loch Katrine
Fresh Air Business CRUISE & GRAVEL RIDE
Date: TO BE RESCHEDULED
Time: 09:30 - 14:30
Loch Katrine holds a significant place in Scottish history and culture, known for its stunning scenery, its role in inspiring literature and being the primary water source for Glasgow and much of West Scotland. It is considered the birthplace of Scottish tourism, partly due to Sir Walter Scott’s famous poem, The Lady of the Lake, and its connection to the outlaw Rob Roy MacGregor!
We will meet up for brews and cake at Trossachs Pier near Callander, load our bikes (these can be hired at Trossachs Pier; including e-bikes which we recommend) onto the Sir Walter Scott for the one hour cruise (more brews and cake if needed!) along Loch Katrine to Stronachlachar. After more brews and cake (if that is possible!) we will get on our bikes to ride back to Trossachs Pier along the 22km private metalled loch-side road. The views are amazing and include the Arrochar Alps, Ben Venue, and Ben A’an.
There is a charge of £80 + VAT to cover cruise ticket, refreshments, insurances, and a contribution to bike-guide costs. Bike hire (and we suggest an e-bike if you haven’t tried one yet), if required, is at additional personal cost from Katrine Wheelz
