Who is this for?

Team Essentials is ideal for new team leaders, as well as for established leaders looking to refresh their team leadership knowledge and skills.

While this is an open programme, feel free to book multiple places for your organisation. You may of course prefer to book out a whole programme on dates and venues that best suit you.

How does it work?

We will meet online as a cohort to frame and explain the programme. We will then invite you to do some homework i.e. complete a team effectiveness questionnaire based on our 5-Element Team Effectiveness Framework and familiarise yourself with the Building Better Teams workbook. This will set you up for the in-person workshop.

During our day together we will explore each of the 5-Elements and help you identify and commit to a set of self-led workplace actions:

  • Situations. Teams operate within a wider, ever-changing context. You need to understand and track this.
  • Foundations. Are you a team, or something else? What have your principal stakeholders established you to do? What kind of environment have you created to enable this?
  • Aspirations. What kind of team do you need to become? What does the development journey look like?
  • Operations. Your team only delivers great impact when colleagues work well together and with stakeholders to deliver collective goals.
  • Integrations. Your team is only as effective as its value-adding relationships with other teams inside and outside the business!

Beyond the workshop, we’ll check in with you individually (a one-hour coaching session is included) and as a cohort for a holding-to-account & review session to see how you got on with your workplace actions.

We will also be able to explore any further support you might need. For example, you may want to consider Team Leader Support and/or Team Elevate programmes.

Institute of Leadership Membershipp
